Frustrated by the exclusive and stereotypical portrayal of women in media, I founded Keke Magazine in 2017 as a counter-narrative and a safe space. As the Editor-in-Chief, I edit and publish content related to female empowerment, including interviews, news pieces, op-eds, and art series. I produce biweekly online content (100+ articles a year) and made three print issues. Keke Magazine also houses the first-ever free online Zine Library and offers an online shop that sells merchandise such as pins and zines.
Keke Magazine has been featured in various publications, such as Fashionista, Women’s Media Center, and Washington Square News. In March 2020, I was invited to Purdue University to speak about my work with the magazine and the importance of an inclusive media space.
